The next morning, the party returns to King Morinn and Queen Tithmel. Late at night, the party encounters a group of old retired dwarves who amuse themselves by making the weirdest armor imaginable. Timrek commissions some bespoke gold finger-guns. They pool their gold and go in on a weapon for Rao. They check out the blacksmith’s shop and find a huge hoard of fine magical weapons, for a huge price. Going further into the city of Felbarr, Yurear buys yeti-skin cloaks for the party, then leaves them on their own for the evening. Morinn, more even-tempered than his wife, speaks rarely during the discussion, and insists they should return in the morning for the monarchs’ decision. If the fire giants succeed at this task, Tithmel thinks they will be unstoppable. She believes that the fire giants are trying to re-light the legendary forge of Ironslag so they can forge adamantine armor. When Wilhelm mentions their run-in with Duke Zalto’s fire giants in Triboar, Tithmel becomes even more animated. He believes that the Lord’s Alliance will no longer come to the dwarves’ aid. Yurear is hoping to inspire the King and Queen to take aggressive action against the giants instead of remaining on defense in their citadel. (The Yurear puns are endless but I have chosen gifs to go along with the “Your Ear” puns instead of the alternative.) When the dwarves are speaking to each other in Dwarven, Deep uses Tongues on Yurear to catch the nuances of their discussion. While Tithmel paces the room and speaks excitedly to the party, Rico uses his cloak to go invisible in the shadows and sit on her throne. Deep’s shamisen riffs amp up the energy as they make their grand entrance.Īlso, Rao burns all of his charges of his new airhorn: They run straight to the throne room to speak with King Morinn and Queen Tithmel. ![]() The party drops their rams off at a stable and rushes through a massive foyer decorated with (and defended by?) magical statues of the Dwarven pantheon. “You’re just begging for the giants to attack you. The front gates of Citadel Felbarr are enormous stone doors, runed in dwarven script. Uninterested in dexterity challenges, Somdubai closes his eyes and floats along, tied to a rope. The path to Citadel Felbarr includes a narrow and treacherous bridge, which the rams expertly navigate. Roo has Rams to loan to Rao, Rico, and also everyone else, even if their name doesn’t start with the letter R. Yurear explains that he has come home with an urgent mission for the King and Queen of Felbarr. They are greeted at the guard towers, called The Hammer, and Yurear is recognized by one of the guards, Roo Icegrip. Yurear has teleported The Problem Solvers out of Yartar, and up to the gates outside Citadel Felbarr. The party takes down the hag, and lets most of the other tribe members escape. A combination of a massive Illusory Terrain spell and Harshnag’s arm clotheslining them brings the tribe down to ground level. They are attacked by the evil clan members from the cliff above them, and the tribe’s temporary leader is revealed to be a hag disguised as a human. The party pulls the gong/shield off the wall and tries to make it out of the cave as fast as they can. The tribe leader Wormblod is away from the cave doing evil deeds with some of these #influencers, and the remaining evil beings are living amongst the tribe members in the cave. He believes that the tribe has been corrupted by evil beings. As they move closer, Wilhelm is contacted telepathically by a spirit who is concerned for the Great Worm Tribe. When the group approaches the altar, they see a Giant-sized shield covered in red dragon scales that is set up to be used like a gong. Som detects the secret passages that would let the party sneak up to the top, but Timrek convinces the guards to let them through to the altar in the back of the cave. ![]() The entrance to the cave is between two large stone cliffs, which the clan lives on top of. ![]() The party travels with Harshnag to the cave of the Great Worm Tribe. In order to summon the Oracle, he needs to retrieve an ancient Giant artifact from a nearby cave of barbarians. They learn that Harshnag and the other Giants don’t get along, and he is traveling to an Oracle to learn how to stop the giants’ war. Harshnag: “I dunno, are you still not squished?” The party gets to chat with Harshnag and figure out why he’s here. Rao uses a super-crit to trip her, and the group finishes her off. The party turns the tide of the fight, taking down the dude barbarian quickly, then moving on to the lady giant, also known as M’Giant.
